Simplex Heli-Torch and Igniters

Ignition source for in-situ burning of oil on water by depositing a burning gel from a helicopter. K-2 contains torches, ignitors, fuel, spare parts.

Lightweight unit designed to be operated with any helicopter equipped with a cargo hook. Consists of an aluminum frame, a high strength steel bail, a single point suspension system, 30 or 55 gal. fuel barrel, and a pump and motor with a propane ignition tip assembly. Electrical controls and emergency breakaway fittings for connecting to helicopter electrical system (28 volt DC). Fuel source is Sure Fire - II and gasoline mixed to form a gel. Two torches are packaged in a K-2 container with tools, spares, propane bottles, and bags of dry Sure-Fire gel. (12) hand held igniters are included. Heli-Torch weight empty: 180 lbs/82 kg., full: 375 lbs./170 kg. (30 gal. tank) or 575 lbs./261 kg. (55 gal. tank).

Used as an ignition source for in-situ burning of oil on water by depositing a burning gel from a helicopter. Optionally, hand-held igniters are included which may be actuated by a boat crew.

Helicopter must have an external cargo hook. Pilots must be experienced in flying with external loads. Heli-Torch is suspended 22 feet below helicopter with the cable harness (included). Sure Fire Gel is mixed with gasoline fuel. Hand-held igniters also require mixing of gasoline fuel with Sure Fire Gel.
