Product Description (English)

Inflatable oil collection system. Packaged on K-2 with two air inflators. Oil is separated from water and contained in temporary storage tank, capacity of 700 bbl./15 m3. Excellent manoeuvrability and compact design makes the NOFI Current Buster II ideal for oil collection in harbours and fjords. In addition to the capability to operate in shallow waters, the NOFI Current Buster II can operate in water currents of up to 3 knots. Even at this relatively high speed the system can collect both high and low viscosity oils, including diesel.

Product Use

Collects and concentrates oil in a low energy pocket. Allows higher efficiency skimming of oil and less water. Towed at speeds up to 3.5 knots.

Operational Considerations

Requires two tow vessels. Maybe used with Boom Vane in place of one vessel. Deployment requires experienced technician. Gasoline is required to operate air inflators. Empty gasoline can is included with 2 inflators.
