Radios to communicate with aircraft on VHF.

Operational Considerations

Portable radios are provided only for communication directly with aircraft to enhance flight safety. Radios can be operated aircraft-to-aircraft or air-to-ground. Unit to unit communication on land or on the same ship is not approved. No separate license is needed in the United States for operation as an aircraft station.
