CCA has long recognized that developing and maintaining contacts with national government and industry response leaders is essential to conducting an international response and we are one of the few cooperatives in the world that has a budgeted Government-Industry Liaison Program. Through this program CCA actively engages in promoting and building response preparedness, planning and scientific decision-making with counterparts in the Caribbean and Latin America.

MOBEX 2007 GovernmentThrough work with national governments' environmental and response agencies, oil companies, Non-governmental organizations, and others, CCA has assisted in educating and training hundreds of government and industry response personnel in oil spill response. More than 35 government representatives have been trained at CCA's one-week Oil Spill Response Training Course in Fort Lauderdale through a CCA "Sponsorship" program, that funds the participant's course, travel and lodging expenses.

We have also trained hundreds of government and industry personnel at a variety of oil spill response training courses, seminars and workshops conducted in Fort Lauderdale, the Caribbean, and Latin America.

CCA co-authored Chapter 10. "Guidelines for the Use of Dispersants and In-Situ Burning" for the International Maritime Organization's Caribbean Oil Pollution Preparedness Response & Cooperation Plan (OPRC), participates on numerous government and industry study groups, and is recognized as an authority on response related issues.
